  Designer and Costume Historian, after finishing his studies at IED he specialized in History of Costume and Demo-ethno-atropology (University of Sassari - PCA). Primarily as a designer and then as a theorist, he has maintained the dissemination of the culture of costume and design as his main interest, with particular emphasis on the cultural heritage of this sector. He was head of the Fashion and Costume Section at the Centro Documentazione Storica (territorial public institution) and head of the cataloger of local cultural heritage at the Archive of Ethnography and Social History of the Lombardy Region, for the construction of the REIL - Register of Intangible Heritage. He participates in research, innovation and costume studies projects and is an expert on the subject at university. He is a member of the scientific committee of some editorial projects dedicated to the evolutionary and emerging scenarios of international design. Author of articles, catalogues, sector publications, he has been an IED professor and educational coordinator since 2012, before holding the role of director of the Milan office. Since January 2022 he has been vice president of the Fashion Training System Platform.

As Career Service Senior Manager for Italy in Istituto Marangoni, he coordinates the three Italian offices of the Group by organizing specific training activities for future graduates, in Italian, English and Chinese, as well as managing industrial relations with the major brands in the fashion sector , design and luxury, both Italian and international.

MSc in Environmental Sciences and Technologies at the University of Milan in 1997, he works with his teams to innovate and promote “innovative sustainability” business models in Fashion, Luxury, Interior Design, Automotive and other industries. He has developed specific technical skills in: Applied Research, Biotechnologies, Life Cycle Assessment, Life Cycle Costing, Corporate Social Responsibility, Risk Management, Technology Transfer. He is also the curator of Innovation Square by Lineapelle.

  Since 2013, Furio Francini has been the CEO of Accademia Costume & Moda and, since 2018, he has been Vice-President of the Fashion Training System Platform, the association that brings together the Italian fashion academies. From 2006 to 2013, he worked in Mediobanca as Head of Equity Investments Group and for Mediobanca Securities in the equity division. Between 2004 and 2006, Furio Francini founded Francini & Partners and acted as advisor to the UK Zebedee Capital fund (a short-long term pan-European investment fund based in the United Kingdom). Between 1995 and 2004, he worked as an Equity Analyst (for NatWest Markets, Santander, UBS Investment Bank), with an increasing number of responsibilities analysing different sectors (Industrials, Consumer, Media / Internet, Banks). During this phase of his career, he received many international awards. Furio Francini graduated in Business Administration at John Cabot University in Rome. _______________________________________________________________________________________ Furio is CEO of Accademia Costume & Moda since 2013 and Deputy Chairman of Piattaforma Sistema Formativo Moda, the Italian Fashion Schools Association, since 2018. In 2004-06, Furio set-up Francini & Partners, adviser to Zebedee Capital (UK-based Pan-European long/short investment fund).   President of Istituto Secoli

  fter graduating in Economics and Commerce in 2001, he began his professional career at Istituto Secoli, the historic fashion school founded by the Secoli family in 1934, assuming the position of President in January 2019. Initially, he held the role of sales manager, dealing also with the Istituto’s communication activities and later taking on the role of Director of the Sales & Marketing department. He also had an important role, within the company, in the Consulting and Organisational Analysis department, a service offered by the Istituto Secoli to the most prestigious fashion brands, such as Benetton, Corneliani, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, aimed at optimising their production processes. In 2008, he joined the board of directors of the Fashion Training System Platform, becoming its President in January 2022 and, from November 2022, he assumed the position of vice president of Antia, the National Association of Fashion System Professional Technicians. Passionate about fashion and an expert in the management of educational processes, he writes and participates as a speaker at industry conferences in Italy and abroad.
